Surface Empire is the original group which LuckyMe emerged from. The starting line included 4 mcs and 2 djs who ran the club with the Lucky' name together, they put out a handful of demos and played a lot of support slots. Let me be clear, they played A LOT of support slots. Dom Sum carried the torch up to the studio of the then, 17 year old dmc competitor, Itchy. aka Hudson Mohawke. together they put out the LuckyMe ep in Summer 05 and have played alongside everyone from Autechre to Caribou.
