About 3 years ago I was dredging a vintage shop and in a coffin amongst a bunch of the tweed I found the polyester vision in gold that you see on the left. The shit was kinda showey to wear in public more than a handful of times so I gave it to my homeboy Joe Ballers. Then when this dope, dope mix landed in my inbox from Bok Bok I found out the full story that Joe had got drunk last week and had gifted it to Bok Bok in return for a mix for the site. For those just getting familiar with us, we all met in Glasgow. And hanging around the best record shop in Scotland, Rub A Dub records, there's this alpha male looking dude called the Jackmaster - our main poppa dawg. He runs the excellent labels Dress2Sweat and Wireblock and we often play shows together.

He did this mix for Sinden's Kiss FM show recently and we thought it was extremely good. Our stone-cold-brother Dema moved to Berlin in June and it's given him the economic freedom to become an amazingly dumb producer of booty and club music under the new monicker of RKBG. We have our own private forum where we all chat shit to each other and post youtubes of Kci & Jo Jo and he just upped this tape to us as an example of the shit he was playing out. It kinda fitted with our tip this month to be honest to the club and humour this weird reputation for raves that LuckyMe has. I arrived at work today about an hour late and there was a brown envelope posted through the door with c/o Dom LuckyMe. Inside was a 45 vinyl effect CD-R and a note typed in Akzidenz Grotesk with the following message from 7VWWVW - " Recorded at the stroke of midnight on July 18th 2008 using two domestic record playing devices and a modest assortment of analogue synthesisers. Band personnel took it in turn to select, hence the relatively diverse nature if the musical presentation. Thanks. "

This mix launched our LuckyMe:Drums parties at Edinburgh's Octopus Diamond. It was at this club that we first met Rustie and laterly, Tom Trago.

1. Oddities X LuckyMe - FineArt and Hudson Mohawke

This was our first promo mix for the streetwear brand Oddities, way back in July 07. We took this mix to Barcelona's Bread and Butter trade show alongwith the Oddities Catalogue and 300 CDs flew the coop in 15 minutes. Next year we're gonna do it on lazer disk and have the two dumbest hip hop shop owners fight it out to see who gets it. On the real, for every breder wearing their New Era still folded on the back of their head, we met a really hot girl who paints watercolours on the side of limited footwear so don't think we are hating. In a perfect world we would only play fashion trade shows. 2010 we are becoming a strict fashion record label who only play trade shows and dress ridiculous. Can't wait.
