We are an extended family of musicians and artists originated in Scotland, UK.

Some are beautiful. Others, ugly. This map helps explain how we get down.

LuckyMe / Music.Art.Parties started in Spring 2002...

Glasgow was dark and bleak. Art School rock was a beautiful flower in an ugly metropol recoiling from the recent succession of Franz Ferdinand to the top 40; and friends Dom Sum Flannigan and Martyn FineArt Flyn were listening to a rare underground hip hop that found no home in these nightclubs. It took a vegan bar in Glasgow's West End to give us a forum. The original LuckyMe night at Stereo was nothing bar a good example of timing and spacing. Hungry rappers, djs and producers found our photocopied flyers and we slowly grew us a hub for another alternative culture in Glasgow.

Dom Sum and Hudson Mo met at the night and came to play under the name Surface Emp - supporting an eclectic mix of touring music through town. Folk to idm, post rock to grime, we saw a lot of green rooms. Most of the roster met around the stages of shows. The crew and label which has emerged from our friendship and collaboration was a grand plan in 2002, but now it seems to have occured completely naturally.

We owe much to our scene and the somewhat mystical musical environment of Glasgow. We are sorry if your contribution is left off the map above. You are there in the clubs, wearing those pop socks. You are there in your rat infested flat on the near South Side, with a short in the power of your mpc. Thanks for making this time up here - where it's so damn cold - so damn hot. We are the Luckiest.
